== About ==
Alessa, the first child of the First Gods, is known as "The Mournful." A moon-aspected deity, she represents the element of Fire and is associated with Autumn and the cardinal direction West.
Alessa’s title stems from her grief upon witnessing the first death of a mortal creation. In her sorrow, she created the final four celestial heavens, reserved for the souls of Mundus's mortal children to rest after their time on the world ends.
Alessa is often depicted as a pale young woman with crimson eyes and raven black hair, wearing a black dress. In places of worship and mourning, she is often depicted with her hands covering her eyes. Despite being the Goddess of Death, she is regarded as a compassionate and loving deity who guides souls to their eternal resting places. She is also believed to protect the living, sometimes preventing death for those she deems worthy.
