Emperor Alexander XVII was the Emperor of Directionland until his passing after Chancellor Crowley's attempted coup that resulted in the death of not only the Emperor, but the Empress and the Crown Prince as well.

About

Emperor Alexander XVII of House Durias ascended to the Imperial Throne at the age of 28, following the passing of his father, Emperor Eddard IV. For most of his 31-cycle reign, he was widely regarded as a just and visionary ruler—one who upheld the ideals of unity, progress, and divine stewardship that have long defined the Empire of Directionland.

His early reign oversaw a golden age: expanded railways, revitalized farmlands, and diplomatic strength among the provinces. It was a time of prosperity and balance, and Alexander's calm presence and thoughtful decisions earned him the trust of even his sharpest critics.

But that harmony began to fray roughly four cycles ago, when Chancellor Nathaniel Crowley's cabinet introduced sweeping reforms that challenged imperial authority and stirred unrest within Parliament. At the same time, the world itself began to change. Dark Energy levels surged, strange creatures stirred in the shadows, and fissures in both land and loyalty began to appear.

Then—without warning—the Emperor vanished during the chaos of Crowley’s attempted coup. No official declaration of death has been issued, but his continued absence has shaken the realm. Some cling to hope that he still lives. Others fear the worst.

To his people, Alexander XVII is more than a ruler—he is the symbol of a united Directionland. His disappearance left a wound the Crown has not yet recovered from.
