During the events of [[Nathaniel Crowley]]'s coup, the Imperial family, including Prince Ethian, were kidnapped into the Nether. So far, only [[Princess Arya]] and Ethian have returned, with the rest of the family presumed dead. Ethian has been affected by [[Darkblight]], a condition that slowly drains his [[Light Energy]].

A regency council was created to help maintain the Imperial Family's duties while Ethian recovers. It is headed by [[Ser Marcus Redholt]].
